11/26/13~Your True Self~

This card is being given to you as a message from Spirit. You have been asking Who am I? And what is my Life's purpose? And spirit wants you to look within yourself and you will see.

Who you are isn't what's in your bank account, or the home you live in or the car you drive. Who you are comes from within your heart, and soul.

What sets your soul on fire? What makes you laugh? What is your passion? Once you can truthfully answer these questions, you will know exactly who you are and what your life's purpose is.

And once that happens, get out there and do what sets your soul on fire, do what makes you happy, and fulfill your life's purpose.

You will know without a shadow of a doubt when you are on your spiritual path, and never let anyone or anything knock you off of it. You are Divinely guided, take the hands of the angels, and let them show you the way.

11/27/13~Keep An Open Mind~

This card is being given to you as a message from the angels. You are wanting to connect with your soul mate, but you keep meeting people that you normally wouldn't be drawn to.

The angels are asking you to keep an open mind, because your soul mate may not be the type of person you typically are drawn to, and that's why you haven't found them yet.

Their is more to someone then their face or body, look deeper into their soul, and you will see the real person.

Your soul mate is looking for you as much as you are looking for them, so don't think they aren't out there, they are, you just need to open your eyes and heart, and feel their energy.

Notice conversations you have, notice how much a person makes you laugh, or makes you feel warm and cozy, like you've known them forever. Then ask the angels, Is this my soul mate? and wait for the answer.

...Blessings Ladean

Yule

By: Lauren C Dole

Yule (Yuletide) the 12 days of Yule:

Yule or Yuletide is a magical time of the year to pagans and Witches around the world. I could make this a long story but I choose to keep it as simple as possible. Yule is the festival that honors the cycle of nature and the Wheel of the Year. It is not just about the Holly king and the Oak king that figures into our Pagan and Witch beliefs but history as well, Dates very but with some research the dates I am posting are the dates most seen and used: Yule is a 12 day holiday or Sabbath and begins on (Mothers Night) .December 21st and ends 12 days later on Yule Night January 1st. It's the origin for the Christian 12 Days of Christmas are really the 12 days of Yule.

The Greenman

By: Lauren C Dole

Taking a look at Green Man

The Green man is as old as four thousand years. He has become intertwined in folk tales with “Jack in the Green”, ” John Barleycorn” and even “Robin Hood”, but each and every “Green Man” is different in the way the craftsman or the age interpreted him.

The “Green Man” is the dimly remembered symbol of an ancient spirit of Nature, recognized and revered by many civilizations and adopted by many religions.

His name means the Green One or Verdant One; he is the voice of inspiration to the aspirant and committed artist. He can come as a white light or the gleam on a blade of grass, but more often as an inner mood. The sign of his presence is the ability to work or experience with tireless enthusiasm beyond one’s normal capacities. In this there may be a link across cultures; one reason for the enthusiasm of the medieval sculptors for the Green Man may be that he was the source of inspiration.”

He is the symbol of the eternal cycle of Nature, the mysterious figure who dies and is reborn each year. The Green Man motif has many variations. Found in many cultures around the world, the Green Man is often related to natural vegetative deities springing up in different cultures throughout the ages. Primarily it is interpreted as a symbol of rebirth, or "renaissance", representing the cycle of growth each spring. Some speculate that the mythology of the Green Man developed independently in the traditions of separate ancient cultures and evolved into the wide variety of examples found throughout history.

Superficially the Green Man would appear to be pagan, perhaps a fertility figure or a nature spirit, similar to the woodwose (the wild man of the woods), and yet he frequently appears, carved in wood or stone, in churches, chapels, abbeys and cathedrals, where examples can be found dating through to the 20th century. The earliest example of green man disgorging vegetation from his mouth is from St. Abre, in St. Hilaire-le-grand, c 400 AD.

In the Germanic nations, such as Germany, Iceland, and England, depictions of the Green Man could have been inspired by deities such as Freyr or Odin, as both have many attributes of the later Green Men from throughout Europe , In Wicca, the Green Man has often been used as a representation of the Horned God, a syncretic deity that appropriates aspects of, among others, the Celtic Cernunnos and the Greek Pan.

Many forms of Neopaganism consider the green man to represent a common form of personal transformation in meditations or ritual. The icon of the face with leaves sprouting out is a representation of a personal visionary experience of "becoming" a green man or woman.

A good bit of fun is creating a Staff or walking stick using green man. Find a suitable stick to work with.( thank the tree for the gift and leave an offering of an apple ) You want a sturdy, thick stick that will be good as a hiking, or walking, stick. The best way to find the right stick is to go to the woods and look around, testing different sticks until you find one that's comfortable for you. Make sure the stick is wide enough to provide a good work space for you to carve on.

Decide what elements of nature you will combine with the human features. Make a rough sketch of your wood spirit so you have something to work from. Place your stick on a solid surface. Secure it to a table with a clamp if you have one available. Begin by using a small chisel and rubber mallet to notch out the rough shape of your wood spirit. The finished project should look like a bas relief, so you want to hollow out space, leaving wood to carve your spirit. The finished piece will look as if the spirit face is 3D and rising from the background.

Use a carving knife and the chisel in combination to for the face and whatever nature elements you've chosen for your wood spirit. A good way to get the wood spirit down is to form the human features first and then set the nature elements around the human form. Sand your wood spirit with light grain sandpaper until smooth. You can .finish it with a clear coat of varnish or even use acrylic paint to add color, although the natural look fits the wood spirit motif best.

The Element Of Earth

By: Lauren C Dole

Earth elements: Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo, It's common to hear someone described as "earthy." A earth element blends in with their natural habitat. They're sensual, meaning they engage with life through the five senses. earth signs can operate at a slower, more thorough pace than the other elements. They’re oriented toward what's real, and often this makes them very productive, able to see the fruits of there labor. But if there are no balancing elements, earth's extremes could lead to being a work-a-holic, hoarding of possessions, pettiness, getting stuck in the mundane and stubbornness. Earth signs can just as easily work their magic in urban places, since they're often centers of a certain kind of high-level productivity. The focus on the tasks at hand make them vulnerable to the "all work and no play, Earth signs are here to shape, manifest, cultivate and revel in Earthly delights. Their gift to others is bringing form to ideas, making them a balancing partner for an idle dreamer with potential. They tend their own garden, and inspire others to make the most of theirs.

Earth: stable, mass, rooted, and stationary.

Positive aspect of the element of earth includes how it nurtures us, cares for us, and provides us with our needs. Working with the element of earth is strongly associated with agriculture and horticulture. The Element Of Air

By: Lauren C Dole

Air elements signs are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius

Those with planets in air signs use their minds to make sense of their lives. With Air, there's more space between the life lived and the mind. This can lead air signs to appear distant detached, remote, cool. Sometimes they'll try to talk their way through feelings or analyze a situation instead of encountering its full emotional weight. The gift of Air is flexibility, and their ability to experience life through many prisms. They're often excellent communicators, storytellers, interpreters and writers and often have a curiosity that keeps them out and about. He air signs are social creatures, Air signs are more vulnerable to the excesses of our mind-body split, and meditation practice helps.

Air signs calm the storm in the mind and sift through the rubble of their mind they’re great conversationalists because they're the keepers of so much knowledge, gossip, strange facts. Air is the element of the East, connected to the soul and the breath of life. If you’re doing a working related to communication, wisdom or the powers of the mind, Air is the element to focus on. Air carries away your troubles, blows away strife, and carries positive thoughts to those who are far away. Air is associated with the colors yellow and white, and connects to the Tarot suit of Swords.

Air is associated with various spirits and elemental beings. Entities known as sylphs are typically connected with the air and the wind - these winged creatures are often related to powers of wisdom and intuition. Water Element

By: Lauren C Dole

Water element: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces

Water signs are attuned to waves of emotion, and often seem to have built-in sonar for reading a mood. This gives them a special sensitivity knowing when to show love and heart at their best, they are a healing force that brings people together -- at their worst, they are psychic vampires, able to manipulate and drain the life force of those closest to them. Those with the water sign have to work harder than other elements to maintain their personal boundaries. Those with planets in Water signs are often assessing a situation by its undercurrents. It can give them an air of being aloof or even shy at first, but they're the warmest of souls when you've won their trust. The feeling experienced by Water signs can lead them into the arts. Some find release from their own personal dramas when they're able to express them as universal. As writers, musicians and actors, they help others make sense of the human experience. But this also happens in everyday life, since Water signs soften the edges of the mundane by padding it with emotional meaning. Water is a formless element on its own, and that's why those with this sign are so quickly shaped by their relationships to others,

  • Water is associated with the direction West.
  • Water Blue: Physical water, hydration, used for healing
  • Deep Blue: Mental or emotional water
  • Blue Black: Spiritual water, usually associated with "buried unconscious" issues

Water spells often involve liquid of some type, such as water, wine, or fruit juice. Pour the liquid you've chosen into a special goblet or chalice. Focus /on your objective, mentally projecting your intentions into the liquid. Water elements are normally very good at water gazing and or scyring .

Elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water:

By: Lauren C Dole

As Pagans and Witches our belief in the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. All animals, plants, stones, emotions, inanimate objects, and energies are combinations of these elements. Everything has its own unique blend of the four elements in it: everything that has substance has earth in it; everything that has energy in it has fire; everything that flows or has feelings has water; and everything that involves sound, Music , voice has air in it.

We call upon the elements when we do magic, healing, completing a task or cooking or just a simple walk anything where we would like to have the elements close in perfect balance for a specified purpose. Inviting the energies of the elements to come and assist with the task at hand.

Working with the (elemental s.) though I am a fire Element I walk closely with all of them, but there are some that can only work with one or even two elements, generally, they like people who embody the best features of their element.

You may wish to check your corresponding birth chart (astrology) to find your prim element then establishing working relationships with that .element, but please try working with all four after you become more comfortable. Some elements may be hard to work with but keep trying!

Fire Element

By: Lauren C Dole

Fire element planets are (Aries Leo Sagittarius) persons with fire signs have a simmering go-get- attitude, as they hunt for things that light them up. They're prone to sudden illuminating flashes of insight, like fire itself, they can flare up when inspired, and making them seem very passionate about life. They like to live big and feel they can win any fight, and often feel frustrated by mundane chores and duties.

Fire signs are known to be intuitive, and to rely on gut-level feelings. Going on faith in their inner guidance gets them far, but they have a tendency to skip over important details, or to be unaware of the emotional impact of their actions. Fire element act on instinct or "sixth sense," and that makes them look reckless to more cautious types.

Fire magic is good for working on increasing one's activity, for defensive magic, for protection, and of course, for sexual magic. It can destroy, but it also purifies. It can help bolster courage and gets rid of negativity. As one would expect, Fire plants tend to have a warm or hot taste (like chills). Fire scents are also warm, a good example being cinnamon or cloves any spicy plants or tree will help in fire spell work, other plants are Stinging, thorny, hot, or stimulating plants Colors are also on the warm side of the color wheel, in reds, oranges. .Yellows, fire elements love the sun and warmth. And tends to get moody on days that are cloudy and dark.

Ghosts & the Bible

Credit goes to: The Paranormal Pastor

It all comes down to what view the person has on the afterlife. Where do we go when we die? There are many references in the Bible that points to the destination of the person after death. Let’s first look at these.

2 Corinthians 5:1,6-8

“For we know that if our earthly house this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” “We are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”

Many people who argue against Ghosts as unbiblical point to verses 6-8. When we are dead, we are with God in heaven. So according to this view, there can be no such thing as a real haunting because the soul and spirit are in heaven at the point of death.

However that would be taking the scripture out of context. The Apostle Paul is writing this in a Roman jail. He is about to die. Christianity is an illegal religion at this time and those who align themselves with the group face torture or even death. Paul talks to the church at Corinth to ease their troubled hearts. Our lives are but passing, but the afterlife is eternal. Our mortal body will die, but we will be given a new one that is immortal. The Apostle Paul desires to be in that new immortal body so he can physically be with the Lord. According to Systematic Christian Theology this new body is not given to us at death, but rather at the resurrection of the just or the ‘rapture’.

The rapture is the Christian theological belief that Jesus will descend from heaven at the end of days and resurrect all His followers just as He was resurrected after He died. The mortal body will be replaced with a supernatural immortal body. Two of the main Biblical passages that give details about this are 1 Corinthians 15: 50-58 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. These passages are lengthy so I will not include them in total here, if you wish to read them in their entirety please click on the passage and you will be redirected to them.

But these passages are telling when it comes to what happens to the persona after death.

1 Corinthians 15:51 reads

“Behold, I will tell you a mystery; We shall not all sleep but we shall be changed.”

1 Thessalonians 4:13 reads

“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.”

The term ‘sleep’ is a euphemism for death in Christian Scripture (John 11:11-14). The writer for all of these books is the Apostle Paul, so rather than supporting the idea that when we die we are with God in heaven he states that those who die ‘sleep’. What does this mean? It refers to the body, not the spirit or soul. The body sleeps at death until it is changed into a new supernatural one at the end of days.

So what happens to our invisible part, the spirit or soul after death? Can the spirit still roam the Earth after death?

The Bible does talk about Ghosts, and the spirit of the dead returning to the earth.

In the Old Testament book of 1 Samuel chapter 28:7-25 we see Saul King of Israel visit a medium when God does not answer him when war approaches. The prophet Samuel has died and King Saul asks the medium to bring up Samuel from the dead. The Ghost of Samuel talks to the King and tells him his fate is sealed just as he told him while he was alive. Verses 11-15 talk about the appearance of the Ghost of Samuel:

Then the woman said, “Whom shall I bring up for you?” And he said, “Bring up Samuel for me.” When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice. And the woman spoke to Saul, saying, “Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul!” And the king said to her, “Do not be afraid. What did you see?” And the woman said to Saul, “I saw a spirit ascending out of the earth.” So he said to her, “What is his form?” And she said, “An old man is coming up, and he is covered with a mantle.” And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground and bowed down. Now Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?”

The Bible clearly states that this is the Ghost of the prophet Samuel. Nowhere in the text does it state that he is otherwise. The spirit is the disembodied essence of the man, and he is recognizable. He is ‘brought up’ from the earth by the witch of Endor, brought from the grave to their presence.

According to the Old Testament, the concept of a Ghost or disembodies spirit of a deceased person is not only real, it is Scriptural.

What about the New Testament? A lot of Theological concepts evolve between the Testaments, such as Grace, Forgiveness and a host of others. What about the concept of a Ghost? Does this evolve as well after the teachings of Jesus?

Almost everyone has heard the story of Jesus walking on water, and if you ever went to Sunday School as a kid I am sure you additionally heard about Peter attempting to do the same and failing. This tale of trust and faith has been used for millennia to teach and encourage Christians. But just before the text talks about Peter’s attempt to come to Jesus on the water the text tells us something unusual:

Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” Matthew 14:25-27

The disciples thought Jesus was a ghost. And they were afraid. Now if ghostly apparitions are all demonic presences as some Christians report, why were the disciples afraid? Just a few chapters earlier Jesus had demonstrated how to exorcise evil spirits and then commissioned the disciples to go all over the land and do so. (Matthew 8:28-34, Matthew 10:1-4) Although not implicit in the text it would seem that they should have had some personal experience in exorcism by themselves. So why were they afraid? Because they believed in Ghosts-the disembodied spirits of the dead who still roam the earth. And not only that, Jesus did not rebuke them for thinking he was a Ghost, instead He just calmed them down and let them know it was Him. If the concept of a disembodied spirit is so unbiblical why did Jesus let his disciples believe such things exist without correction?

Christian Scripture itself attests to the validity of Ghosts, and supports the idea that they are the disembodied spirits of the dead. Later Bible readers and teachers have read into the text their preconceived notions instead of reading from the texts and basing their ideas from the Scripture itself. Cults do the same thing to make their religious claims seem legit.

But let no one fool you. Belief in Ghosts is Scriptural. And to turn a phrase that the Fundamentalists use against them I would say, “The Bible says it, I believe it, that settles it!”
